To provide ample training opportunities, since 2008 Yuanta has actively recruited new talent through its Management Associate (“MA”) program, as well as seeking talent to advance the Group’s international strategy and the industry trend toward digital finance, leading to a major growth of hiring and training activity in Yuanta’s six major divisions: Financial Holdings, Securities, Banking, Insurance, Futures, and Securities Investment Trust. Additionally, Yuanta first opens all job vacancies to internal applicants, and only begins an external search if a suitable candidate cannot be found; as a result, Yuanta’s turnover rate is on the low side when compared with its industry peers.

Yuanta Financial Holdings and its subsidiaries have set an operational strategy and short, mid, and long term objectives laying out their employee training plans going forward. In recent years, this has involved preparing future management candidates for important roles, with a focus on international operations talent and the management trainee program. Professional training has focused on Fintech talent, and talent transformation plans in the securities, banking, and insurance divisions. Yuanta Financial Holdings works together with its subsidiary companies to implement employee training and development initiatives, while at the same time strengthening its employee database management abilities, giving the Group a better understanding of its workforce and their developmental direction, and making sure the Group is fully equipped to meet its personnel needs in rapidly developing business areas such as Fintech and international operations.

Furthermore, in response to the Group’s international development plans and the transformation taking place in Fintech, Yuanta has not only communicated its plans through internal channels, but has actively promoted its efforts both domestically and abroad, and worked to diversify the professional skills of its workforce. Cultivating the Next Generation of Finance Talent on Campus

In recent years, Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) has been actively working with schools to cultivate financial industry talent in order to build a diverse pipeline of talent and deepen the willingness of new generations to join the financial industry. Yuanta FHC has assisted students in gaining a deeper understanding of various types of work in finance and their development through a variety of cooperation models, including lectures, credit-bearing courses, club mentoring, corporate visits and exchanges, corporate internships, and campus competitions, to help students explore their interest in career development and establish proper investment and financial concepts.

Yuanta Securities and National Chiao Tung University Foster AI Talent

Since 2013, Yuanta Securities and National Chiao Tung University (NCTU) have formally entered into an industry-academia cooperation plan to jointly promote financial technology innovation industry-academia cooperation program, and continue to deepen the cooperation models of “Yuanta Finance Lecture,” “Corporate Thematic Internship” and “Industry-Academia Minor League - Financial Technology Innovation Industry Alliance” to achieve the goal of both financial education and financial practice. In addition, through a new in-depth collaboration approach in thematic research, Yuanta and NCTU are able to explore more possibilities for innovative financial technology solutions by drawing on the strengths of both parties.

Yuanta and National Chengchi University Collaborate to Deepen Capital Market and Enhance Students’ International Competitiveness

In order to cultivate international financial talent in Taiwan, Yuanta has been cooperating with the Department of Money and Banking at National Chengchi University since 2017 to offer a credit course on “Investment Banking Practice,” which is taught through the collaboration of four major financial industries: financial holdings, securities, banking, and venture capital. This collaboration has successfully opened students’ eyes and ears to international capital markets, provided investment banking internship opportunities, and guided students to develop the professionalism and mindset necessary to become international financial professionals.

Cross-Field Cooperation between Yuanta and National Tsing Hua University: A Solid Foundation for Digital Finance

Since 2019, Yuanta FHC and the Department of Quantitative Finance at National Tsing Hua University have together offered a credit course on “Financial Transaction Practice” in response to the trend of digital finance. In addition to inviting trading experts from four companies of financial holdings, securities, futures, and funds/investment trust and the head of risk control to give joint lectures, students have also been provided with internship opportunities after the course to combine classroom theory with financial practice, effectively shortening the period of exploration into the job market and enhancing students' competitiveness. Yuanta FHC is committed to nurturing students from seedlings to big trees by demonstrating its willingness to invest in students over the long term.

Yuanta and Feng Chia University Join Forces to Build Future Financial Services and Cultivate International Talent

In 2020, Yuanta FHC has joined hands with Feng Chia University’s College of Finance and related departments to build a cross-domain experimental field for future financial technology, promote the cultivation of financial talent, and open up more possibilities for the future development of the financial industry by bringing together its five companies in securities, banking, insurance, futures, and funds/investment trust. At the same time, Yuanta FHC has applied its overall layout strategy in Southeast Asia to together promote the “ASEAN Financial Talent Development Program” and expand the international talent pool of its subsidiaries.

Yuanta Life Launches Insurance Literacy Development Program for Interns

Yuanta Life cooperates with colleges and universities to promote the “Insurance Literacy Development Program for Interns,” which allows the true function of insurance to take root downward. In addition to providing internship and work experience, Yuanta Life also hopes that young students will understand the nature of insurance, which can effectively convey the value of the insurance industry and the risk management function of various types of insurance products for different stages of life, and in the future, successfully help themselves and their friends and family to establish a proper concept of insurance and build their own life protection.

Campus Simulation Contest Opens the Way to Future Investment and Financial Management

Since 2017, Yuanta Securities has held an annual “Yuanta Stock Racing” contest on campus in order to cultivate proper investment and financial concepts in young students, attracting nearly 4,000 students from over 100 universities and colleges across Taiwan. Under the cooperation of Yuanta Securities and various supervising professors, students learned about investment concepts, trading mentality, and practical skills through the simulated investment contests, which not only helped students to apply financial knowledge and theories and understand securities trading practices, but also provided them with a lifetime of investment and financial management experience.

To cultivate futures trading talent, Yuanta Futures held the “Smart Futures - Campus Elite Programmer Awards” contest in 2017 and led 500 young students from 57 universities and colleges to write trading programs and test their performance through the simulation platform to develop good trading programmers. In 2019, the “National Colleges and Universities - Foreign Exchange Simulation Investment Contest” was launched. A total of 64 colleges and universities and 800 students competed against each other in the simulated foreign exchange trading contest to build students’ proper foreign exchange investment concepts and risk awareness and to move forward toward the goal of “foreign exchange mastery.”
