Yuanta Group, which is deeply committed to sustainability and integrates ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) concepts into corporate culture and business strategies, has been honored with five awards in the 2024 Taiwan Financial Awards. Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) has won the Premium Award in the category of Sustainable Finance for four consecutive years. Yuanta Securities has been awarded the Gold Award this year after receiving the Premium Award in the Best Brokerage Customer Recommendation last year (2023). Yuanta Bank has been recognized with the Premium Award in Smart Innovation Application. Yuanta Funds has obtained the Gold Award in the Best Funds Company for six years in a row, as well as the Premium Award in Smart Innovation Application.

Organized by Wealth Magazine, the Taiwan Financial Awards is an influential award in Taiwan’s financial industry. Each year, a panel of experts from industry, academia, and the corporate sustainability field is invited to commend industry role models. This year, in response to the policy of “Guidelines for Financial Institutions on Greenwashing Prevention” of Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission, the Taiwan Financial Awards has added relevant questions to the selection criteria. Yuanta FHC, as a member of the Coalition of Movers and Shakers of Sustainable Finance, actively acted on the sustainable development policy and was once again praised for the ESG practices.

In order to steadily move towards the net-zero goal, Yuanta FHC has taken the initiative to participate in international advocacies, becoming one of the world’s Early Adopters for the Taskforce on Nature-Related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) this year, and joining the Partnership for Biodiversity Accounting Financials (PBAF) as a supporter. At the level of social engagement, Yuanta FHC has been working with employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders to donate blood for fourteen consecutive years. This year, we have even taken advantage of our financial industry to organize blood drives in conjunction with the police and government agencies to simultaneously promote fraud prevention. In the first half of the year, a total of 174,000 c.c. of warm blood was collected, and 203 fraud cases were successfully blocked, with a blocked amount of NT$130 million.

As an important member of the financial safety net, Yuanta Bank has been actively cooperating with the government’s policy in recent years, making good use of artificial intelligence technology to research and develop fraud-deterrent models (Skynet AI model) to block high-risk abnormal transactions, achieving an average of fifteen days’ advance warning and control of abnormal accounts, and reducing fraudulent money-laundering flows by more than 70%, which is an excellent result. Yuanta Bank will continue to uphold the philosophy of “treating customers as we would like to be treated,” vigorously protect customer assets, and fulfill corporate social responsibility.
