Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the public’s willingness to donate blood is low, and during the summer vacation, there is a serious shortage of blood at blood donation centers throughout Taiwan. Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) has long been committed to social welfare. This year’s second “Yuanta Charity Blood Drive” started on June 27th, joining hands with Yuanta colleagues, suppliers, neighbors, and the general public to contribute a total of 842 bags of blood to the blood bank by the end of July, relieving the pressure on the medical front line through practical actions.

For more than two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the stock of blood banks in Taiwan, but Yuanta FHC still held blood drives without interruption. Five blood drives in Taipei were conducted with the highest epidemic prevention standards, requiring the wearing of masks and alcohol disinfection throughout the process as well as maintaining social distance. Furthermore, the blood drive is booked in advance of the event, effectively dispersing the flow of people to avoid clustering and allowing colleagues to do social service while taking care of epidemic prevention.

Yuanta Futures colleagues shared that participating in the company’s blood drives is the accumulation of small kindnesses, and the accumulation of small kindnesses over a long period of time will become a great kindness for society. Yuanta Funds colleagues also said that, in the past, if you wanted to donate blood, you had to spend time running to the hospital or searching for the location of the blood donation van, but now you can donate blood regularly by following the company’s three blood drives a year.

Since 2011, Yuanta FHC has been conducting blood drives, which has become the Yuanta Group’s public welfare representative activity. Local communities and suppliers have also taken the initiative to join in helping others, and over the past twelve years, 23,223 bags of blood have been donated to support the continuation of love and life. Yuanta FHC will continue to invite people from all walks of life to participate in spreading love and bringing more warmth and positive energy to the community and the medical front.
