FTSE4Good Emerging Indexes have announced this year's constituent stocks. Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) has been selected as a constituent of the FTSE4Good Emerging Indexes for six (6) consecutive years, demonstrating that Yuanta FHC's integration of ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) concepts into the business strategies and our efforts to work with stakeholders for the common good have won international recognition.

International institutional investors have increasingly focused on sustainable financial development. The FTSE4Good Index Series has been compiled by FTSE Russell since July 2001. The FTSE Emerging Indexes were further launched in November 2016 to strictly examine the ESG effectiveness of each company and select only those with outstanding sustainability performance. The current membership includes 566 companies worldwide, with a combined market value of approximately US$3.2 trillion. 91 companies from Taiwan have been selected.

Yuanta FHC is deeply involved in the ESG field and has achieved remarkable results. In terms of corporate governance, Yuanta FHC strengthens ESG information disclosure, specifies that the work objectives of senior managers must be connected to corporate sustainability-related business, and implements sustainable development objectives through a performance-linked compensation system.

In terms of environmental sustainability, Yuanta FHC recently passed the world’s most credible Science Based Targets (SBT) carbon reduction target review, in which the most critical investment and financing positions of the financial industry account for nearly 40% of the total, making Yuanta FHC the financial company with the highest coverage rate in Asia. Yuanta FHC also released the first TCFD (Climate-Related Financial Disclosures) Report to enhance the completeness and transparency of climate related information disclosure.

In terms of social engagement, on average, one out of every five Yuanta employees volunteered for volunteer activities, showing a high degree of enthusiasm and social concern. Yuanta also invites employees’ families, suppliers, and customers to participate in public welfare and environmental advocacy activities to expand social influence.

As an international benchmark enterprise for sustainability, Yuanta FHC has been named as a constituent stock of the FTSE4Good TIP Taiwan ESG Index for ten (10) times, and has been awarded the exclusive corporate seal of the constituent stock. Last year, Yuanta FHC embarked on our second five-year strategy roadmap for sustainable development, aligning ourselves with the international trend of sustainability, continuing to innovate and progress, and becoming a leading force for social and environmental change.
