Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) has long been committed to sustainability, implementing supplier engagement and promoting a green economy. In 2024, our green procurement amount reached NT$298 million, representing a year-on-year increase of nearly ten percent (10%). On July 30, Yuanta FHC was honored at the “2024 Private Enterprise and Organization Green Procurement Excellence Awards Ceremony” held by Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment of the Executive Yuan (MOE), receiving this distinction for the thirteenth consecutive year. Our supply chain management has also been awarded the highest rating of “A” in the CDP Supplier Engagement Rating (SER), demonstrating our outstanding performance in sustainable procurement management for six years in a row.
The MOE continues to encourage companies to carry out sustainable actions such as green procurement and circular economy in order to promote the national Hope Project’s Strategy for Shaping a Net-Zero Sustainable Green Lifestyle. As a leading member of the Coalition of Movers and Shakers on Sustainable Finance, Yuanta FHC has fully imported the ISO 20400 sustainable procurement guidelines, established a systematic sustainable procurement process, and prioritized the procurement of green-labeled products. Our green procurement spending has grown for four years straight, showing our concrete response to policy initiatives. Yuanta FHC has also incorporated the concept of a circular economy into operations. Through a service-oriented business model that replaces purchasing with leasing, manufacturers provide maintenance and replacement of consumables, maximizing the efficiency of product resource usage, effectively reducing waste generation, and creating a positive cycle of resource utilization. This aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG 12) to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.
Yuanta FHC persists in leveraging financial influence to lead suppliers in jointly emphasizing corporate sustainability issues. We hold annual ESG (environmental, social, and governance) exchange meetings with suppliers to share the latest global sustainability trends and engage in two-way communication and consultation. The first exchange meeting of the year focused on the theme of “Green Transformation and Carbon Management,” providing practical training on carbon inventory and popularizing green procurement reporting. This event aims to enhance suppliers’ understanding and implementation of green initiatives, actively calling for their participation in green actions to achieve sustainable results through steady collaboration. Since 2010, Yuanta FHC has consistently attained the highest rating of “A” in CDP’s Supplier Engagement Rating, gaining high praise for supplier engagement, greenhouse gas scope 3, and risk management procedures.
