Yuanta with Love, Safe at Work Yuanta Bank Certified as Middle-Aged and Senior Citizen Friendly Enterprise in Taipei City

Employees are the most valuable assets of a company. Since 2021, Yuanta Bank has employed more than 100 middle-aged and senior citizens over the age of 45, encouraging intergenerational cooperation and experience transfer, and building a friendly and equal employment environment. Yuanta Bank has thus been recognized by the Taipei City Government and has been awarded the first “Middle-Aged and Senior Citizen Friendly Enterprise Certification.”

According to the statistics of Taiwan’s Directorate-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, as of 2022, the ratio of people over 65 years old accounted for more than 20.91% of Taipei City’s total population, which has already reached the standard of “super-aged society” defined by the United Nations, making it the oldest city among the six special municipalities, and it will be facing the problems of labor shortage and aging earlier. As the financial services industry relies heavily on human capital, the experience and connections that middle-aged and senior-aged employees have accumulated in their careers, as well as their strict attitude towards professional knowledge and legal regulations, are all indispensable treasures of wisdom.

In order to strengthen the retention rate of senior staff, Yuanta Bank actively promotes the “Work Fitness Management Program for the Middle-Aged and Senior Citizens,” which includes flexible job assignments, hiring allied health professionals to provide regular work fitness assessments and fitness advice to staff, and organizing workplace health promotion activities, which are conducive to work-life balance. Yuanta Bank also continues to optimize workplace hardware and software equipment to create a pleasant and comfortable working environment in order to safeguard valuable human resources. As of the end of last year (2022), the ratio of middle-aged to senior staff was as high as 45% of the total workforce.
