Guided by the mission that “public welfare is a continuous commitment to giving,” Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) and the Yuanta Cultural and Educational Foundation (Foundation) centered the public welfare efforts on education. The “Dream Big” Yuanta Social Service Dream-Fulfilling Project (hereinafter referred to as the “Yuanta Dream Big Project”), launched in 2016, has now entered its ninth year. This year’s program focuses on three key themes: “Climbing Mountains and Crossing Seas - Nurturing Dreams and Setting Sail,” “Empowering Inclusion - Illuminating Lives,” and “Community Harmony - Pursuing Dreams without Age.” Volunteers from the Yuanta Group actively participate, continuously integrating financial expertise into public welfare activities to empower beneficiaries to become contributors to their communities.
The Yuanta Dream Big Project aligns with digital transformation and sustainable education trends, combining artificial intelligence (AI) digital empowerment, financial literacy, and anti-fraud courses. It partners with eight selected dream-fulfilling groups to embark on this journey: Taitung’s Sanxian Elementary School creates the PawPaw “Treasure Drums” from discarded buoys, beating rhythms of environmental protection and tribal culture; Kaohsiung’s Fenglin Junior High School preserves community memories through local shadow puppetry; Taichung’s Tunglin Community presents owl nest boxes to narrate the dreams of senior learning companions and sustainable communities; and the Barrier-Free Players Life Care Association cultivates instructors with disabilities. By harnessing the collective strength of public welfare partners, the power to build dreams grows ever stronger.
Sharon Chung, Chief Executive Officer of the Yuanta Foundation, stated that this year’s Yuanta Dream Big Project breaks through traditional charitable frameworks. Volunteers not only engage in community outreach to facilitate intergenerational learning and support independence for individuals with disabilities, but also leverage Yuanta FHC’s core financial expertise. They design financial fraud prevention and wealth management courses for beneficiaries while simultaneously launching digital empowerment workshops. Past participating groups are invited to collectively enhance management and advocacy capabilities through AI technology and literacy skills. This approach elevates charitable actions beyond isolated assistance to systematic operational capacity building, advancing toward achieving goals such as poverty eradication through public welfare (United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 1), quality education through student support (SDG4), and sustainable cities and communities (SDG11).
The Yuanta Dream Big Project has mobilized internal and external resources across the Yuanta Group since its inception. Over 9,000 volunteer participants have contributed their time, helping 52 organizations fulfill their aspirations and benefiting more than 230,000 individuals. The Yuanta Group continues to leverage subsidiaries’ business locations and employees’ voluntary service to foster sincere connections and warm hearts, ensuring that the pulse of public welfare remains vibrant.
