Education is the seed of hope for turning one’s life around and the best way to build a solid dream. Since the establishment of the Yuanta Scholarship for Outstanding Underprivileged Talents (YSOUT) by the Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) and the Yuanta Cultural and Educational Foundation (Foundation) in 2016, the Yuanta Foundation has entered its tenth year of providing a total of 665 scholarships to outstanding students who bravely pursued their dreams despite the shortage of family resources. On December 5, a total of 83 students were recognized at the tenth YSOUT award presentation ceremony, which was witnessed by the deans and teachers of various schools, writing a warm and meaningful page for the tenth anniversary.

A National Taiwan University Finance student who won this year’s award has worked hard to overcome life and academic challenges during her studies, has maintained outstanding grades from high school, college, and master’s degree, and has been accompanied by the YSOUT for three consecutive stages of her education. The student has also actively participated in the Yuanta Foundation’s public welfare volunteer activities, and her dedication to giving back to the community through her actions is impressive. Tony Shen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yuanta Foundation, said, “To see a student continue to break through academically and be willing to shine a light on others along the way, symbolizes that Yuanta’s ten years of persistence in nurturing talents and accompanying their growth has already borne fruit.” He encouraged all award-winning students to face the future with courage and enthusiasm, and to become a force for positive change, so that this goodwill can be extended deeper and farther

Two colleagues who had been awarded the YSOUT and are currently serving in the Yuanta Group were invited to share their heartfelt stories in the role of alumni. They felt the warmth of Yuanta in the most difficult moments, and they have deep feelings for Yuanta. Thus, they chose the Yuanta Group for employment without any hesitation, and they also hope to give back to more people in the future with this kindness.

Yuanta FHC and the Yuanta Foundation firmly believe that every child deserves a life-changing opportunity and accompany young people in their pursuit of education. As one of the few foundations that offers scholarships from high school to college and master’s degree programs, the Yuanta Foundation has been taking practical actions to implement the United Nations’ goal of sustainable development of “quality education” by uninterruptedly investing resources and care over the last ten years. Through steady and continuous support, we accompany students to thrive, concentrate on their studies, understand early the direction of their future development, and draw up a clear blueprint for their growth, so as to carry out the long-term cultivation of Taiwan’s financial talents, and to realize the sustainable integration and co-prosperity of human resources, which will in turn become a stabilizing force in society.
