Yuanta Securities continues to deepen commitment to sustainability. For the second consecutive year, Yuanta held a staff family-day walk and tree-planting activity with the goal of carbon reduction, in an effort to mitigate global warming. This year’s (2023) annual Family Day is not only a walking activity, but also combines the campus tree planting and responding to the sea-waste cleanup program, closely linking “caring for employees” and “caring for the earth.” We continue to put ESG (environmental, social, and governance) concepts into practice in our operations and lives, and implement Yuanta Group’s virtuous-circle philosophy of “what is taken from the community is used for the community.”

Yuanta Securities Employee Welfare Committee (EWC) encourages employees to join the walking activity with their family members. The event was held at Taipei Zoo, Tunghai University in central Taiwan, and Taiwan Sugar Museum in southern Taiwan, with a total of four Carbon Reduction Walks held throughout Taiwan and a total of 5,967 participants (including family members). The Family Day event also continued last year’s (2022) eco-restoration tree-planting activity, with a total of 3,418 Taiwan native saplings donated and planted in eight high schools, junior high schools, and elementary schools, including New Taipei Municipal Bi-Hua Junior High School, Bihua Elementary School, Taichung Municipal Cingshuei Senior High School, etc. Through the beautification and greening of the campuses, Yuanta Securities has been able to promote a sense of neighborliness and environmental conservation.

Furthermore, Yuanta Securities EWC donated part of its funds to the Azure Alliance this year, sponsoring the organization to hold eight harbor cleansing projects in Pi-t’ou Fishing Harbor, New Taipei City, on its own floating garbage cleaning vessel, Azure Fighter, collecting a total of about 200 kilograms of floating garbage, which is equivalent to about 8,400 PET bottles. Yuanta Securities promotes the protection of biodiversity, regardless of land or sea, and takes practical actions to care for Taiwan’s marine ecology, contributing to marine environmental protection and sustainable development.

Yuanta Securities continues to respond to the policies of the competent authorities and Yuanta Group’s sustainable development. Last year, Yuanta Securities’ “Mr. Investor APP” passed ISO 14067 product carbon footprint certification and PAS 2060 carbon neutrality certification, becoming the first zero-carbon APP in Taiwan’s securities industry. This year, “Yuanta Securities Online Investment and Financial Management Services” has also passed the British Standards Institution’s ISO 14067 product carbon footprint certification and obtained the carbon footprint label from Taiwan’s Ministry of Environment. Yuanta Securities is taking advantage of the Yuanta Family Day to encourage colleagues to walk, and at the same time, we are also committed to building a sustainable community, conserving marine resources, and responding to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, so that Yuanta Securities can lead the community towards sustainable development and actively promote a better future for future generations.
