Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) and Yuanta Cultural and Educational Foundation (Foundation) held the “Yuanta Happiness Day” event today (4/8). 42 Yuanta volunteers accompanied 40 schoolchildren from Gongliao Elementary School and Quaker Shulin Church in New Taipei City to experience handmade coin deposit boxes and financial management instruction on the campus of National Taiwan University (NTU). The children then went to the famous sporting goods channel brand, Momentum, to pick up their own “Happiness Gift Packs” and bring home their favorite new clothes and shoes.

The two organizations participating in the Yuanta Happiness Day were introduced by the Taiwan Rural Education and Care Center of Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU). Gongliao Elementary School is a mini school in a remote area with only 27 students and relatively few teaching resources. Most of the people served by Quaker Shulin Church are families living in neighboring industrial areas, where parents generally have low wages, work long hours, and lack time to spend with their children. The Yuanta Foundation plays the role of a public welfare platform, matching students in need with schools and enterprises that are passionate about contributing, gathering warmth from all walks of life and amplifying the positive energy of love.

Robert Yang, chief executive officer of Yuanta Foundation, said that the highlight of Yuanta Happiness Day is to prepare the Happiness Gift Packs of tailor-made concept for children. He is very happy to bring the children to the university to learn and hopes that they will take their studies seriously and return to NTU as students in the future.

I-Yu Chen, deputy director of the Innovation Education Center in the Stanley Wang D-School@NTU, said it was an honor to invite students and volunteer brothers and sisters to campus for intergenerational exchange. The deputy director of FJCU’s Taiwan Rural Education and Care Center, Chia-Ju Chu, believes that the Yuanta Happiness Day has accompanied the growth of many children in the remote areas and hopes that we can pass on this warmth to more people.

During the Yuanta Happiness Day, the students were guided to open their hearts and interact with each other under the enthusiastic teaching of the volunteers. After the course, the children were excited to go to Momentum to pick out clothes and shoes. Among the participating volunteers, there were many “Yuanta Babies” who had received the Yuanta Scholarship for Outstanding Underprivileged Talent. They were very grateful for the help from the Yuanta Foundation in the past, and now they have the ability to help others, and it gives them a sense of accomplishment to pass on the love of the Yuanta volunteers.

This year, the Yuanta Happiness Day is in its twelve (12^th) year, and including today’s event, 1,887 volunteers have contributed to the event, accompanying 6,982 children. Yuanta FHC and Yuanta Foundation will persistently devote ourselves to public welfare and continue to care for the community through practical actions, so that the warmth of love will continue to circulate.
