Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) has long been concerned about the impact of climate change on the economic and financial environment, deepened climate risk management mindset, actively participated in domestic and international sustainability initiatives, introduced various International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards and passed third-party verification, and implemented the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through concrete actions. This year, Yuanta FHC won the ESG Sustainable Development “Pilot Award” again. Since 2020, Yuanta FHC has been highly recognized by the British Standards Institution (BSI) for six consecutive years.
With the increasing impact of extreme weather on the world’s population and environment, sustainability has become an indispensable cornerstone of business operations and the key to resilience. BSI encourages the promotion of “transforming to net zero” and “implementing sustainability” through practical actions, and annually selects companies with outstanding sustainability performance based on the degree of their fulfillment, and presents them with sustainability awards with the symbol of “Leading the way with standards, preparing for the future.” The “Pilot Award” is the highest level, which honors companies that have demonstrated long-term and concrete leadership in all aspects of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) sustainability governance and set an example of sustainability.
Yuanta FHC has voluntarily compiled a sustainability report ahead of the timeframe set by the competent authorities since 2014, and has been issuing the report for eleven years in a row. In the report, Yuanta FHC has publicly disclosed objectives and progress; Yuanta FHC has also followed through on external verification, improved the quality and depth of information disclosed, and proactively communicated with stakeholders, displaying commitment to sustainability. In 2024, Yuanta FHC’s Climate and Nature-Related Financial Disclosures Report (TCFD) adopted the indicators of the “International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S2 Climate-Related Disclosures.” Furthermore, for three straight years, the TCFD Report has received the highest level of certification, “Level 5+ (Excellence),” from the BSI for compliance audits.
With the sustainable vision of “becoming an international benchmark enterprise for sustainability, actively promoting a better future for future generations,” Yuanta FHC has incorporated the concept of net-zero transformation into daily operation and business decision-making, and is committed to building a sustainable financial ecosystem, responding to Taiwan’s 2050 net-zero carbon emission policy and participating in the process of global low-carbon transformation through the use of sustainable financial products, responsible investment and financing, low-carbon operations, and sustainable supply chains. Yuanta FHC has also planned the Yuanta Group Sustainable Development Strategy Roadmap from 2026 to 2030, and will continue to integrate internal and external resources to promote sustainable development.
