To promote the concept of green consumption, the Taipei City Government’s Department of Environmental Protection (hereinafter referred to as the Taipei City Government) held the 2025 Awards Ceremony for Outstanding Private-Sector Enterprises and Organizations in Green Procurement to recognize private-sector enterprises and organizations that spent more than NT$5 million on green procurement last year (2025). A total of 184 entities were honored. In 2025, Yuanta Financial Holding Company’s (FHC) green procurement spending increased significantly by nearly 40 percent compared to the previous year. For the fifteenth consecutive year, the company was commended by the Taipei City Government as a “Model Organization for Excellence in Green Procurement,” demonstrating outstanding achievements in sustainable procurement management.
To advance the circular economy, Yuanta FHC is actively optimizing procurement model by implementing a “leasing replacing purchasing” mechanism. We centralize the management of equipment such as office machines and printers to improve resource efficiency, striving to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions associated with equipment replacement. At the same time, we are vigorously engaging with suppliers to prioritize the procurement of products bearing energy-saving, water-saving, and carbon footprint labels, thereby minimizing environmental impact.
Yuanta FHC explicitly requires suppliers to comply with and adhere to all relevant regulations regarding labor conditions, occupational safety and health, environmental protection, the circular economy, and labor rights. We prioritize selecting suppliers with strong ESG (environmental, social, and governance) performance for collaboration, hold annual supplier exchange conferences, assist the supply chain in establishing various risk management mechanisms, and work hand in hand with employees, customers, and suppliers to jointly advance the industry’s sustainable transformation.
Committed to the original mission of implementing environmental sustainability and resource recycling, Yuanta FHC has actively supported the “Rebag & Box Circulation” initiative for the reuse of secondhand bags of Taiwan’s Ministry of the Environment (MOE). We have called on all our subsidiaries to participate by collecting clean, unused secondhand cloth and paper bags from employees’ homes, thereby giving these idle resources a new purpose and maximizing their value. After being sorted by volunteers, the donated secondhand cloth and paper bags will be distributed not only to organizations in need through the MOE’s matching platform, but also to social welfare organizations that Yuanta FHC has long supported. By combining environmental initiatives with charitable efforts, we validate our commitment to promoting plastic reduction and practicing a green lifestyle.
