Yuanta FHC Launches Long-COVID Care Program, the Only One in Taiwan’s Financial Industry; Passed ISO Epidemic Prevention Guidelines for 2 Consecutive Years

As the world enters the post-pandemic era of coexistence with viruses, Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) is committed to building a healthy workplace. While strictly implementing epidemic prevention measures, we also comprehensively protect the physical and mental health of our employees by taking stock of and integrating internal and external resources to promote the “Workplace Care Program for People Recovering from Infectious Diseases,” which has been highly praised by employees. Furthermore, Yuanta FHC and the subsidiary Yuanta Securities were the first financial institutions in Taiwan to implement the “ISO 45005 Occupational health and safety management — General guidelines for safe working during the COVID-19 pandemic” (hereinafter referred to as “ISO epidemic prevention guidelines”), which were verified by the British Standards Institution (BSI), and were verified again this year, winning international recognition for the second consecutive year.

For employees suffering from the aftereffects of long COVID, Yuanta FHC has integrated resources to promote the “Workplace Care Program for People Recovering from Infectious Diseases,” which employs a group of specialists consisting of Chinese medicine practitioners, family medicine practitioners, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and nutritionists. Through pulse assessment, acupuncture and massage, exercise and nutrition, physiological feedback testing or daily maintenance advice, a total of 70 “Workplace Long-COVID Health Consultation Clinics” have been held since last July, serving more than 1,000 number of persons.

The program has received high praise from employees. Some colleagues said that the financial industry is under high work pressure, and after the diagnosis of COVID-19, they often feel that their memory is not as good as before and are easily tired when they return to work. Through the program, colleagues are able to have one-on-one consultations with doctors, and they can clearly feel that the company takes the health of the employees seriously. Some colleagues said that the doctor will give customized advice to individual health conditions, such as changes in lifestyle, adjusting diet and exercise habits, etc. Their own health problems are also improved.

Yuanta Group introduced “ISO 45001 Occupational health and safety management systems” in 2019, and Yuanta FHC and all five subsidiaries – Yuanta Securities, Yuanta Bank, Yuanta Life, Yuanta Funds, and Yuanta Futures - were certified by BSI third party in 2021, laying a solid foundation for Yuanta Group in workplace safety regulation. The COVID-19 virus ravaged the world in 2020. Yuanta FHC and Yuanta Securities immediately implemented ISO epidemic prevention guidelines and passed the verification, and took proactive actions to complete planning, assess the risk of epidemic, take care of employees’ mental health, and create a safe workplace. This year we continue to pass the verification of being ahead of the financial industry in disease prevention.
