To fulfill corporate social responsibility and implement sustainable environmental practices, Yuanta Securities has successively held annual employee Family Day events at the Kaohsiung National Science and Technology Museum, the Taichung National Museum of Natural Science, and the Taipei Children’s Amusement Park. This year, under the theme “Plastic-Free Living, Low-Carbon Future,” Yuanta Securities aims to educate employees and their families through engaging activities, encouraging them to adopt environmentally friendly lifestyles. By fostering social responsibility, we collectively build a sustainable home. These Family Day events brought together over 7,500 employees and their families from three locations across Taiwan. The events feature a variety of interactive family booths, including fun learning activities such as “Walking Challenge: Passing on Sustainability Knowledge,” “Sustainability Flip-Flop: Ocean Secrets Revealed,” and “Little Eco-Heroes: Sustainability Experts.” These activities help children develop environmental awareness from an early age, inspiring them to bring these concepts home and carry out plastic reduction actions in their daily lives. In addition to parent-child activities, the event site also presents a dedicated anti-fraud awareness area. Special invitations were extended to law enforcement agencies, such as the Criminal Investigation Bureau, to enhance employees’ and their family members’ awareness and vigilance against fraud schemes through interactive Q&A sessions, scenario simulations, and case studies, thereby strengthening the community safety net. Furthermore, the events showcased a thoughtfully curated “Food Carnival.” Along with putting up charity booths offering handmade cookies from sheltered workshops, we have also invited food trucks to set up shop, serving a variety of creative dishes to promote healthy eating and an environmentally conscious lifestyle. Beyond Family Day activities, Yuanta Securities actively participates in various public welfare initiatives, maintaining a steadfast focus on the needs of underprivileged groups in society. This year, Yuanta Securities joined in the Nangang Church of Revival’s support for the 1919 Food Bank initiative, regularly delivering essential supplies to underprivileged families across multiple communities. We provided them with basic necessities and warm companionship. Yuanta Securities also collaborated with the Hongdao Senior Citizens’ Welfare Foundation to organize the “Senior Companion Day” event. Volunteers were arranged to visit senior day care centers, where they accompanied the elderly in plant identification lessons, nostalgic board games, and shared meals. We care for the physical and mental well-being of the seniors through concrete actions, ensuring they feel respected and cherished by society. 　Yuanta Securities stated: “Family Day is not only an event for employees to bond and share family time, but also a concrete practice in advancing our ESG initiatives.” Yuanta Securities has made plastic reduction and low-carbon living key themes this year. Supporting education in remote areas through action, Yuanta Financial Holding Company (FHC) and the Yuanta Cultural and Educational Foundation (Foundation) continue to deliver care. This year’s Yuanta Happiness Day event, themed around “Environmental Education,” welcomed 68 students from Shangping Elementary School in Kaohsiung City and Wutai Elementary School in Pingtung County today (9/20). The group visited the Kaohsiung Cishang Sugar Agricultural and Creative Park—a century-old sugar factory repurposed into an eco-friendly hub—embarking on a learning journey that blends ecology, culture, and eco-conscious craftsmanship. We also presented exclusive Happiness Gift Packs containing jackets, pants, and sneakers, creating warm and touching memories for the students. Yuanta Happiness Day partnered with the Cishan District Sugar Factory Community Development Association in Kaohsiung City to organize diverse experiential courses utilizing local resources. Accompanied by Yuanta volunteers, students experienced local banana fiber craftsmanship. They personally extracted natural fibers from the pseudostems of banana leaf sheaths, then used them to create sphagnum moss balls and paint with sap from the banana pseudostems. This sparked students’ interest in natural materials and ignited their imagination, transforming each child into a green thumb and an eco-friendly little champion. Through a full day of hands-on activities, the students gained an understanding of resource recycling and the implementation of environmental sustainability concepts. Both schools participating in this event embrace a philosophy of diverse teaching approaches. Shangping Elementary School in Kaohsiung City is dedicated to creative teaching that integrates art with the environment. Wutai Elementary School in Pingtung County is renowned for its preservation of Rukai (indigenous Taiwanese) culture and ecological education. The schools extended their sincere gratitude for the invitation. Yuanta Happiness Day aligns perfectly with their exploratory learning philosophy, offering field trips and experiential learning that allow students to experience the charm of Taiwan’s traditional sugar industry culture and eco-friendly craftsmanship. The Yuanta Foundation stated that a principal once shared, “Receiving an invitation from Yuanta is like the joy of happiness knocking at your door; it feels as exhilarating as winning the lottery.” The original purpose of Yuanta Happiness Day is to ensure every child receives their own special gift. The Happiness Gift Pack is more than just material aid—it transforms care into companionship and inspiration, encouraging students to pursue their dreams with courage. Since its inception in 2012, the initiative has held 68 sessions, mobilizing over 2,000 volunteers and distributing more than 9,000 customized Happiness Gift Packs. The Yuanta Foundation partners with local communities and educational institutions to transform “happiness” from a single gift into a beacon of light illuminating the path ahead for children in remote areas.
